The Divine Wedding of Ram & Sita
Vivah Panchami Festival Tour in Janakpur
Once a year Janakpur re-lives the greatest wedding in scripture: the baraat of Lord Ram enters the city, and at the Vivah Mandap the hands of Sita and Ram are joined again before hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
Yatra Overview
“When the baraat enters Janakpur, every pilgrim walks in it — for the wedding of Ram and Sita is the wedding of the soul with the divine.”
Vivah Panchami commemorates the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Mother Sita, solemnized in Janakpur at the Vivah Mandap. The festival’s heart is the baraat: the wedding procession of Lord Ram entering from the Ayodhya side of the city, met by Janak’s court, culminating in the re-enacted wedding ceremony.
This 7-day tour arrives before the festival for preparation and full dham darshan — Janaki Mandir, the Sita birthplace, Ganga Sagar, Dhanusha Dham — then places you within the procession and the Mandap ceremony on the festival day, followed by post-festival darshan and a Mithila culture evening.
With our pandit guiding each rite and pure veg sattvik meals throughout, it is the most complete way to receive the blessing of the divine wedding.
