Sixteen Seats of the Goddess
16 Major Shakti Peeths Divine Tour
The complete circle of the Mother’s sixteen major seats in Nepal — valley peeths, eastern hill peeths and the great Terai peeths — received in one continuous thirteen-day divine tour.
Yatra Overview
“Sixteen lamps of the Mother burn across Nepal — circle them all and carry her whole garland home.”
This divine tour completes the full traditional circle of the sixteen major Shakti Peeths of Nepal: the valley seats of Guhyeshwari, Shobha Bhagawati, Dakshinkali, Bhadrakali, Bajrayogini, Chamunda and Mahankali; the hill seats of Indrayani, Palanchowk and Kalinchowk; the cable-car seat of Manakamana; and the great eastern and Terai seats of Gadhimai, Dantakali, Pathibhara and Baraha Kshetra.
The route runs as a single graceful loop — valley, then east through the hills, then the warm Terai plains, and home — with full darshan and pandit-led puja at every seat and evening aartis where tradition allows.
For devotees wishing to complete the peeth circle in one journey, this is the definitive yatra.
