The Birth-Cry of Lord Ram
Ram Navami Festival Tour in Janakpur
Be in Janakpur — the city of Sita and the royal court of Mithila — when the midnight bells announce the birth of Lord Ram: jhula darshan, midnight aarti and the whole city singing Ram Navami.
Yatra Overview
“In the midnight of Chaitra the bells of Janakpur ring the birth of Ram — and every heart in Mithila answers.”
Ram Navami, the birth celebration of Lord Ram, is celebrated in Janakpur with a warmth found nowhere else: this is the city of his beloved Sita, of Janak’s court and of the Vivah Mandap where the divine wedding was solemnized.
The festival day moves from morning abhishek and jhula (cradle) darshan at Janaki and Ram Mandir, through bhajan and Ramayana recitation, to the midnight janma aarti when the birth is announced and the whole city erupts in joy.
This 5-day tour adds full dham darshan — the Sita birthplace, Vivah Mandap, Ganga Sagar and Dhanusha Dham — and an evening of Mithila culture around the festival.
