The Garden of the Buddha’s Birth
Lumbini Tour
Stand in the exact garden where Prince Siddhartha was born: Lumbini’s Maya Devi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar and the sacred pond, with the peace of the monastery zone and the old Shakya capital of Kapilvastu.
Yatra Overview
“In the garden of Lumbini the world received its gentlest teacher — peace begins where he first opened his eyes.”
Lumbini, in the Terai plains of southern Nepal, is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and one of the four great pilgrimage sites of Buddhism. The Maya Devi Temple marks the exact birth spot beside the sacred pond, and the Ashoka Pillar — raised by the emperor himself in 249 BC — still stands in witness.
This 4-day tour flies you to Bhairahawa and walks you through the sacred garden, the monastery zone of international temples, the eternal peace flame, and the surrounding heritage of Kapilvastu and Devdaha — the maternal home of Queen Maya.
With quiet mornings in the garden, guided heritage interpretation and pure veg meals throughout, it is a journey of stillness suitable for pilgrims of every tradition.
